A Gift from above...up north that is.

This is just one of the wonderful gifts that I received from my wife around this holiday season. While I was on a trip to Idaho a couple of years ago I tried the local root beer. It was the best root beer that I have ever had. So my wonderful wife ordered it from up north and had it shipped down here. Thank you honey for the root beer.

The winner is..

Our very special winner is Ashley Pate. Ashley is a senior at Columbia High School in Lake City, Florida. According to her anonymous nominator, Ashley is a very, very special young lady.

Ashley was born during an emergency C-section and the family was given not pleasant predictions for her future mental and physical health. They also were told that Ashley had Treacher-Collins Syndrome. After enduring multiple craniofacial surgeries to "look more normal," she is not only not mentally incapacitated.. on the contrary, she is an honor student and enrolled in dual enrollment classes. When she graduates, she will be a certified nursing assistant with plans of being a nurse practitioner.

Because of family circumstances, Ashley was not afforded the luxury of senior photos. Because she was chosen as the winner of our participation in Giving is Awesome, Ashley will receive those photos. Also, since the person nominating her wishes to remain anonymous, the gift for the nominator will be given to Ashley's mother (per the request of her anonymous nominator). Ashley's mom will receive a photo session of her choosing.

Ashley, we can't wait to meet you in person! You will be receiving a phone call soon to set up the details of your photo shoot. :) Merry Christmas!

Chris and Rosalind Reinolds

Wishing you a Motormerry Christmas.

Last night we had some very special guests over to have their pictures taken. J and P came over and had their Christmas portraits made. Little P didn't have a problem smiling for the camera. But J had to have some encouragement along the way. That encouragement came in the form of getting him to talk about his Christmas list. Which included a green motorcycle that whenever he mentioned it, it brought a big smile to his face. We hope that you enjoy your pictures and you have a Motormerry Christmas.

The answer to the crazyness..

Yes, Goldie, the picture below is a picture of one of our family members eliminating squirrels from a tree. Actually, he has a net in the other hand.. trying to check the baby squirrels.

Holly, you win just on sheer amusement. Your response generated the greatest distance of coffee travelling from my mouth.

BIIIIIGGGGG NEWS!!!

You know someone. You know someone who's experienced a tragedy, is struggling to stay afloat, is raising kids while holding down more than one job, or is volunteering selflessly despite extenuating personal circumstances. You know someone who can't afford custom photography, but who would cherish it this holiday season. You know someone who deserves a year-round reminder of their family's spirit, love, and beauty.

You know someone. I guarantee it.

I want to know who they are, and I want to give them the chance to experience complimentary custom photography – over $675 worth, to be exact. Whether it's canvas or albums, prints for Grandma, or a slideshow to watch over and over, it's in your power to give them the artwork they deserve this holiday season.

Oh, and the best part? The person who nominates the winner receives a $400 photo gift. What better reason to show some love could there possibly be, people?

The rules:

* You cannot nominate yourself, and the person nominated must sincerely be incapable of purchasing my services. (Being unable to make mortgage payments for a two-million-dollar-vacation-home in Paris does not qualify as sincere financial need.)

* The nominee must reside in Northeast Florida. Tell me who you know, what they're experiencing, and why they deserve my artwork. Please include a way to contact both your nominee and yourself as well.

* You must e-mail me the full story : chrisreinolds@inhisimagephotos.com.

The winner will be announced on Christmas Eve -- get nominating! I can't wait to read all of your entries!

Open your heart to someone this holiday season -- and thanks for giving me the opportunity to open mine.

With love,
Chris and Rosalind Reinolds

Two Years ago today I was taking a Greek test.
Two Years ago today I was wearing a tux.
Two Years ago today I was waiting in a small room bouncing a ball back and forth across the room.
Two Years ago today I was waiting behind a closed door as Mark gave me the play by play of what was going on.
Two Years ago today I was standing at the front of a church.
Two Years ago today I married the love of my life and told her that "I will" for the rest of my life.
Two Years ago today I made one of the best decisions of my life.

Rosalind I love you and these past two years have been amazing and I look forward to the many more that are to come.

Love,
Chris

7 Pounds of carrots.

So as a tribute to the Thanksgiving Holiday that we recently had; I have a stuffed story for all to enjoy. It all started with carrot soufflé. The conversation is as follows.

Me: No, everything is fine I am just waiting for the water to go down.
Ros: How much water is in there? The disposal has been running for awhile.
Me: Well, its going down a lot slower than I had hoped for.
Ros: What did you do?
Me: (Incredulous) I was disposing of the peelings from the 7 pounds of carrots that we skinned.
Ros: (More incredulous) You put seven pounds of carrots down the garbage disposal?
Me: No, I did not put seven pounds of carrots down the sink. I put the peelings down the sink.
Ros: Chris, why did you put them in the sink? Why not throw them into the garbage?
Me: Because we peeled them in the sink and I figured if we peeled them in the sink why not put them down the garbage disposal.
Ros: Because you can't put seven pounds of carrots down the garbage disposal and not expect it to break.
Me: I didn't put seven pounds of carrots down the disposal, I put the peels. And it is not broken...it's just not working.
::Ros walks over to inspect sink::
Ros: The sink is orange!
Me: (Matter of Fact) From the carrots.
Ros: Yes, Chris.
::She reaches over and turns on the disposal::
Ros: It looks like it's going down. Doesn't it?
Me: (Hopeful but not believing) Yeah, some.
Ros: Ugh. Why would you put seven pounds of carrots down the sink?
Me: I put the peels down not the whole carrot. You were sitting in the living room talking to me the whole time I was doing it, why not say something like, "Why don't you throw those in the garbage? It might clog the disposal."
Ros: I thought you knew it would clog the disposal.
Me: I thought the point of the disposal was to eat everything that you put in it.
Ros: Not seven pounds of carrots.
Me: It was just the peels. Don't worry I'll fix it. Can you get me a wire coat hanger?
Ros: Why?
Me: I am going to try to work out the clog. And could you also grab the plunger while your back there?

{2 hours later}

Me: I fixed it.
Ros: How?
Me: I took apart the pipes under the sink?
Ros: And?
Me: Well, some idiot put seven pounds of carrot peels down the sink and it clogged the pipes under the sink. I rinsed the pipes out outside.
Ros: So?
Me: So it works now, I put everything back together. And by the way I don't appreciate You putting seven pounds of carrots in the sink so that I have to fix it.
Ros: (Sarcastic) I'll make sure not to do that again.

Not the typical stuffing story for Thanksgiving but I hope you enjoyed out adventure.
